About Development

The game was initially developed as a project to learn the game development platform, Unity. Every aspect of the game and gameplay were built in just two applications: the Unity IDE, and Microsoft Visual Code. It is written in C#, with 3D modeling handled by the built-in Unity mesh editor, ProBuilder. When it was released in late 2023, it quickly became a viral game on the game development web platform, itch.io, along with being hosted on scores of other web game portals. It's been played hundreds of thousands of times since then, and its life on the Internet shows no signs of slowing down.

Developed as a solodev project by Mark Johns, the feedback has been so positive that we are working behind-the-scenes on a commercial followup to the game, Future Bike Extreme encompassing the whole studio, particularly the enlisted help of Doomlaser co-developer and artist, Kevin Coulton. Here is a screenshot of Kevin's model for THE BIKE in the upcoming project.
